Personality & Memory

Your Selu agent doesn’t have to sound like a generic chatbot. You can shape its personality, tone, and even what it remembers about your preferences — making it feel more like a personal assistant that actually knows you.

Go to Settings → Personality to customize how your agent communicates.

You’ll find a system prompt field where you can describe the personality you want. Write it in plain language — no special syntax needed.

Here are a few examples:

You are a warm, helpful assistant. Keep your responses concise
and conversational. Use plain language and avoid jargon. If you're
not sure about something, say so honestly.

Selu gives your agent two kinds of memory:

This is the conversation history within a single session. The agent remembers everything said since the session started. When the session expires (see Agent Sessions), this memory is cleared.

Long-term memory persists across sessions. Selu can store facts, preferences, and notes that the agent learns about you over time. For example:

  • Your name and how you like to be addressed.
  • Your preferred units (metric vs. imperial).
  • Recurring topics or projects you’re working on.

You can view and edit what your agent remembers under Settings → Memory.

  • View stored facts — See everything the agent has learned about you.
  • Delete individual items — Remove specific facts you don’t want the agent to remember.
  • Clear all memory — Start fresh by wiping all stored information.
  • Disable learning — Turn off automatic memory collection if you prefer a stateless experience.

If you have multiple agents installed, each one can have its own personality and memory. This lets you have a casual assistant for everyday tasks and a formal one for work — each remembering different things about those contexts.

Configure per-agent settings under Settings → Agents → [Agent Name] → Personality.
